Article VII. Etiquette and Rules

Section 1. Part of enjoying a MMORPG such as World of Warcraft depends on the proper use of etiquette. It is not expected that guild members must lift their pinky finger as they sip their frappucino or merlot, but it is expected that guild members use proper etiquette that will ensure we all have a pleasant online gaming experience. If you know the Golden Rule and follow it, you should never have a problem related to etiquette. “Do unto others only as you would have them do unto you.”

Section 2. Do not bombard a player with messages as soon as they log on requesting help. At least say hello before you blast a whisper of “Can you run me through SM?” as soon as someone logs on. We aren’t here for you to use and abuse for your own personal gain, we want to also enjoy the game and probably have plans of our own. Try to request help from those that are about your same level or have the same quests so that you all can benefit.

Section 3. Do not ever beg for gold from any players online, it could get you kicked from the guild! There is a difference between asking for a loan and begging for gold. If I get a whisper, especially from someone I do not know, asking for gold I will ignore them. Grinding for gold is how most of us got to where we are. It builds character, allows you opportunities to meet and help other players, and gets you experience as well. If you do receive a loan be sure to pay it back as soon as you can. You should pay off any debts before buying that great deal at the auction house or dropping all your gold into training.

Section 4. Do not invite someone you do not know into a group without asking first. If you are doing a quest and it appears that others in the area are on the same quest, ask them to group and share the quest. If there are too many already grouped, allow whoever was there first to complete the quest and wait for it to re-populate for you to complete it. If you are wondering why there are dead bodies all over the place already, that is a good clue that someone is already there working the quest or grinding. If someone jumps in behind you and steals a quest or creature from you, be sure you let them know you were there first and allow them to make amends before throwing a tantrum.

Section 5. This guild values fun, honesty, integrity, loyalty, and respect. Members and officers are expected to abide by these simple values to uphold the good name and public image of Hand of the Alliance.
